PORTLAND, OR–(Marketwired – November 19, 2015) – Cascade Energy today announced with OSI, a world leader in providing quality products and custom solutions for the food industry, impressive energy and cost savings numbers at several OSI facilities. Since May 2013, OSI North America has saved over 7,255,000 kilowatt hours (kWh) and will achieve a total electrical-energy cost savings of $500,000 before the end of the year.
Cascade and OSI’s initial pilot program involved:
- Setting up an energy measurement, tracking, benchmarking, and reporting system.
- Performing a tune up on facility refrigeration, compressed air, and high-pressure water pump systems.
- Delivering a final report, listing action items to be implemented.
- Engaging OSI site staff to assist with the action item implementation.
- Reviewing system performance to drive additional energy savings.
“OSI is taking an aggressive and comprehensive approach to energy management,” said Cascade Energy CEO Marcus Wilcox. “We are very excited about their success, and look forward to driving more energy and cost savings at additional facilities.”
Based on the exceptional results at the Oakland plant, OSI extended the energy efficiency program to five more facilities in 2015, with more to come in 2016. OSI projects an estimated annual savings potential of 1,858,000 kWh annually at the West Chicago facility alone, if all recommended measures are implemented.
“Cascade is now OSI’s go-to partner for our energy optimization program for our North American plants’ industrial systems,” said Larry Glaser, AVP, Director of Operations Support.
