WICHITA, KS–(Marketwired – Sep 16, 2015) – Wescon Plastics announced today that Jan Acker joined the company this week in the role of president and CEO. The custom injection-molded plastics company recently completed a $3.5+M plant expansion in south Wichita, the roll out of a new IQMS ERP platform, and the addition of several new molding machines to meet the capacity demands of new and existing customers.
Acker is a seasoned plastics industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in leadership roles, including president and CEO of Placon Corporation. He assumes the position at a time when the Wichita-based company is positioned for accelerated growth resulting from significant injections of capital from Nova Capital Management, the private equity firm that purchased the company as part of a portfolio acquisition nearly three years ago.
“We’re extremely pleased to have such an experienced industry veteran joining the team as CEO to steward Wescon to the next phase of development and growth,” said Jan Kreminski of Nova Capital.
According to Kreminski, Wescon will also benefit from ongoing investment in new molding machines and robotics and the addition of select staff in support of profitable growth. Other infrastructure improvements include increases in assembly capabilities.
Acker assumes the role previously held by Rubbermaid veteran Shane Milledge.
“I have the great fortune of joining the Wescon Plastics team at the most promising time in its history,” said Jan Acker. “It’s already rich and deep in core ‘know-how’ with more than 40 years of injection molding experience; meanwhile, Nova continues to propel the company with meaningful infusions of capital, infrastructure, technology and customer-facing enhancements.”
Wescon is hosting an open house and ribbon cutting at their expanded facility for customers and select media on October 21.
